Our History
More than 120 years ago, the firm was established in Castle Douglas hiring out horses and carriages before introducing the first petrol driven hire car in the Stewartry. In 1974 we officially became a main dealer for Vauxhall and Bedford. The current James Haugh Group came into being in 2000, following the acquisition of the Vauxhall outlet in Dumfries.
